TOBACCO WALKING STICKS
I Ask To Be No Man, Other Than The Man I Am
Growing tobacco on a farm was a very hard life, but in eastern Kentucky where I grew up it was about the only source of money for most families. Raising tobacco was nearly a year long process. In the spring the tobacco seeds were sown in tobacco beds. Later, the young plants were transplanted to the fresh plowed fields. After a full summer of work the tobacco was cut and hung in the barns using "Tobacco Sticks" to cure.
Tobacco Walking Stick or walking canes shown below were made over 100 years ago by splitting logs of Ash, Oak or Hickory into smaller and smaller sticks. The Tobacco Walking Stick is approximately 42" in length, with four sides.
If you are purchasing a Tobacco Walking Stick, add a couple Grizzly Bear Claws and you will have a unique walking stick with a bit of history.
